Benny Hinn
General Info
Benny Hinn is a very rich and successful TV evangelist who has a regular show on Trinity Broadcasting Network. He was born in 1953 in Israel to a Greek father and an Armenian mother. He was raised in the Greek Orthodox religion. Hinn claims that while he was a young boy of 11 years of age in Israel, God first appeared to him, and has been appearing to him ever since. Hinn patterned his ministry after that of Kathryn Kuhlman, a faith healer/spiritist. He claims she appeared to him after she died

and gave him his current "anointing" for ministry. He wears all white clothing like she did while parading on stage to the sounds of a large choir singing "How Great Thou Art", and "slaying people in the spirit". Benny has been known to wave his coat at people, blow on them, or touch them on the forehead, after which they often fall backwards to the floor in a trance. Hopefully their fall is softened by "catchers" who have been told to stand behind them. Benny Hinn has been investigated by the Christian Research Institute and CNN and both caught him in lies and false teachings. entitled to be rich and healthy. He has also made a number of public false prophesies and alleges miraculous healings he has been unable to document. He has consistently refused to join the Evangelical Counsel for Financial Accountability (ECFA), a Christian organization to which most major denominations and mission groups belong. His TV shows have led many people astray with false doctrines and a false "anointing" that cannot be of the Holy Spirit because, when compared to Scripture, it is fleshly and demonic in nature. We advise all pastors and churches to tell everyone not to watch his television shows and not to attend his crusades.
