The Five Core Doctrines

fool you. By what they teach they actually deny one or more of these doctrines. You can use these five doctrines to test whether a person, a church or a movement is teaching sound doctrine or heresy.

Doctrinal Comparison

     First, a definition:
     "A cult is a group of people which, claiming to be Christian, embraces a particular doctrine system
taught by an individual leader, group of leaders, or organization, which (system) denies (either explicitly or implicitly) one or more of the central doctrines of the Christian Faith as taught in the sixty-six books of the Bible."  (Alan Gomes, Unmasking The Cults, Zondervan, 1995)

1. The Trinity     

    A.
Religions: Judaism, Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism,

Bahai, Hinduism, Catholicism (Mary as co-redemptrix with Christ)   
     B.
Cults: Jehovah Witness, Mormons, old Worldwide Church Of God, Christian Science, Inglesia Ni Christo, Scientology, Unification Church.
    C.
"Christian" groups: United Pentecostal Church, Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Unitarians, Unity, United Church of Jesus Christ, many Apostolic Churches.
    D.
Third Wave: Benny Hinn (nine part god), Kenneth
Copeland (Jesus brother of Satan) and anyone involved in the false anointing.

2. The Person of Jesus Christ:

    A.
Religions: Judaism, Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, Bahai, Hinduism, Catholicism (Jesus put to death again in the Mass)
    B.
Cults: Jehovah Witness, Mormons, old Worldwide Church Of God, Christian Science, Christadelphians, any
Gnostic groups, Scientology, Inglesia Ni Christo, almost all cults.

    C. "Christian" groups: Unitarians, Unity
    D.
Third Wave: Benny Hinn, Kenneth Copeland and  any teachers who treat Jesus like a vending machine for health and wealth

3. The Second Coming:


     A.
Religions: Catholicism (Postmillennial), Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, Bahai, Judaism.
     B.
Cults: Jehovah Witness, Scientology
     C.
"Christian" groups: Unitarians, Unity
     D.
Third Wave: Any teacher or group that teaches Postmillenial, Dominion, Kingdom Now, strict Amillennial/Preterist views.

4. Salvation:

    A.
Religions: Catholicism (works salvation), Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, Bahai, Judaism.
    B.
Cults: Jehovah Witness,   Mormons, Christian Science, Scientology, Unification Church
    C.
"Christian" groups: SDA, Unitarians, Unity, Church of

Christ & Boston Church of Christ, any teacher or group  who add the "transferable anointing" to salvation by grace alone.
    D.
Third Wave: Any teacher who teaches a transferable impartation. Any teacher who does not fully preach the gospel message of grace consistently.

5. The Scripture:

     A.
Religions: Catholicism, Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, Bahai, Judaism (OT only)
     B.
Cults: Mormons, Christian Science, Scientology
     C.
"Christian" groups:  SDA, Unitarians, Unity
     D.
Third Wave: Almost all deny the sufficiency of the Word by teaching "new revelation", adding to, subtracting from, or  going "beyond what is written" in Scripture. U

Jesus in His sermon about the kingdom of heaven had just finished explaining to the disciples and crowds gathered around them that anger is the sin that leads to murder, lust

leads to adultery and selfishness to divorce. Therefore, as "kingdom people" we need to deal with our anger, lust and selfishness if we are to meet His high standard. 
     
What about deceit and lying? Vows or oaths were commonly made in Jewish culture. What is

the purpose of a vow? We are most familiar with them today as used in a court of law. The witness is required to vow or promise with his hand on the Bible that he will tell only the truth. A vow is a way of showing that you are very serious about something. Moses said that if you make a vow you must keep it because
