prayed
repeatedly and, when prayed as prescribed, God has to answer. This kind
of technique is exactly what the Bible warns against (Matt.6:7). We are
also told to ask, seek and knock, but we do not tell God what to do. It's
up to God how to answer our prayers. Sometimes, as in the case of Jabez,
the Lord grants our requests. Sometimes He answers in a different way,
and sometimes He may not answer for years. The Lord has also answered prayers
in a way totally opposite to our human desires to accomplish His own purposes,
as in the case of Job. Paul was allowed to be sick so that many Galatians
would be saved (Gal. 4:13). The weakest translation was also used by Wilkinson
and then expanded into unbiblical teachings. According to many respected
Hebrew scholars endorsing the book "The Lost Prayer Of Jabez", the Jabez
prayer actually reads like this: "Now Jabez cried out to the
God of Israel saying, "If you would only bless me, then enlarge my territory
that Your hand may be with |

me,
and provide me with pasture land so that I will not be in distress." And
God brought about that which he had requested." (1 Chronicles
4:10) Because of these fundamental errors by Wilkinson, his book contains
dangerous teachings. But this book has sold 12 million copies! If you want
more information on this book, please check out these two books:
"I Just Wanted
More Land" - Jabez by Pastor Gary Gilley and "The Lost Prayer Of
Jabez" by Dr. Larry Pechawer
Both books can be
found on the Deception In The Church web site at:

I would not advise
using this book or selling it in your church bookstores. The Lord is gracious
and will answer our prayers. We just need to have enough faith to believe
He knows how best to answer them. |
